Sony introduces 2 new true 4K laser home theater projectors . The company proudly claims to use the smallest ( 0.61-inch ) advanced SXRD sensors in its class , making the VPL-XW7000ES 20% smaller and 30% lighter than its predecessor, the VPL-VW790ES. And for the VPL-XW5000ES , these figures are even more impressive – 30% and 35%, respectively, which makes this novelty the world’s smallest of its kind.
Of the two models presented, the VPL-XW7000ES is the more advanced, offering 3,200 lumens of light output. In practice, this means that its 3-meter projection has an impressive brightness of 308 nits . This projector is equipped with a premium 13-element Advanced Crisp Focus motorized aspherical lens.
The light output of the VPL-XW5000ES is 2000 lumens. This model features a simpler 10-element aspherical lens with manual shift adjustment.
Both projectors use a range of Sony -exclusive video technologies , many of which are found on the manufacturer’s TVs, including Triluminos Pro , Dynamic HDR Enhancer and Object-based Super Resolution , and the video processor is the acclaimed AI-powered X1 Ultimate .
As a result, the new products provide “best-in-class high-quality images with vibrant colors and exceptionally deep immersion, even in the presence of ambient light,” the company says. At the same time, the coverage of the DCI-P3 standard is 95% .
In addition, both models offer ultra-low input latency – at 13ms for 2K / 120Hz format , but instead of the more advanced HDMI 2.1 standard, they use HDMI 2.0 .
The advertised price for the VPL-XW7000ES is 14,999 Euros, the VPL-XW5000ES is 5,999 Euros.
