Acoustics Note Loudspeakers Commona SE: Cosed two-way floor standing speakers in metal

Loudspeakers Commona SE

The SE prefix in the name of the two-way floor standing speakers manufactured by the Czech company Note Loudspeakers means Special Edition. The Commona SE speakers replace the Commona model. For them, the acoustic design “closed enclosure” was chosen. With a certain loss in recoil, this option is intended to increase musicality.

The Commona SE features woven dome tweeters with a lightweight, 1-inch diaphragm. The non-standard 7.4 ”(188 mm) mid and bass driver is equipped with a heat-treated paper cone impregnated with a hardening varnish.

The signal between these drivers at 1,900 Hz is distributed by a Butterworth crossover, assembled using selected components. These include high quality ceramic resistors, metallized polypropylene capacitors and custom coreless inductors.

The Commona SE speakers are available in wenge finish with brushed metal elements. In particular, a version with a polished stainless steel faceplate is available. Spikes were used as supports.

In the UK, the Note Loudspeakers Commona SE has a suggested retail price of £ 2,580.
