Alare Labs Remiga 1: Beautiful floor standing speakers from Italy
Alare Labs Remiga 1
The Italian company Alare Labs has expanded its Remiga series of floor standing speakers by introducing the compact model Remiga 2 . The novelty has inherited all the technical solutions of the older model Remiga 1 in a more compact body. The manufacturer emphasizes that in this case we are not talking about any compromises in sound quality.
The low-frequency spectrum is entrusted to a pair of custom-made drivers – 8-inch and 6-inch with polypropylene cones, working in the acoustic design of the transmission line. According to the developers, this solution made it possible to achieve extremely fast, uncolored bass without distortion.
The mid-frequency range is served by a 5-inch cell series speaker from the German Accuton company with a ceramic membrane, installed in a volume filled with a special aramid fiber for perfect control of radiation from the back of the cone.
The 1.3″ beryllium tweeter features high power output and a much wider polar pattern than comparable sized drivers. Beryllium is an extremely light and rigid material that performs better than titanium and aluminum when reproducing high frequencies.
The Alare Labs Remiga 1 loudspeaker enclosure is constructed from sandwich panels alternating between different wood species and layers of special damping adhesive, which together create an effective “bonded layer” damping effect. Such a solution, as well as an internal frame made of steel rods, suppress almost any vibration of the case.
The developers paid special attention to the crossover, which uses elements of the highest quality. The crossover components are solidly mounted on a non-conductive board and are connected to each other in a point-to-point fashion using a silver-plated copper wire.
