The Danish company Audio Group Denmark , which owns the Børresen brand , introduced the new Børresen X3 speaker systems , which are positioned as entry-level speakers. Initial – by the standards of the manufacturer of ultra high end acoustics, of course. Børresen emphasizes that “everyone deserves the sound quality that Børresen speakers deliver, which is why Børresen Acoustics has developed the entry -level 3 at an affordable price, bringing the Børresen speaker universe closer to even more people . ”

To deliver Børresen’s signature sound to the X3 speakers, Michael Børresen and his design and engineering team used the solutions that resulted from the development of the Børresen M1 speakers, Børresen’s most ambitious speakers to date. The cone of the X3 dynamic heads consists of three layers laminated into a single whole – two layers of carbon fiber with a layer of aramid honeycombs between them. As a result, it was possible to achieve high rigidity of the diffuser with a low weight of the movable structure.

In the magnet system of the X3 drivers, Børresen uses double copper caps on the magnet poles to achieve high magnetic flux and low inductance. The use of copper caps was borrowed from the Børresen Z series of acoustics. Copper responds to changes in magnetic flux – the better the resistance of these copper rings, the flatter the inductance curve and the lower the electromagnetic resonance.

In addition, lower inductance also means fewer peaks in the impedance curve, making it easier to load the amplifier. The tweeter in the X3 acoustics comes into operation from about 2.5 kHz. The tape emitter is characterized by a very low weight of the membrane, which is about 0.01 grams.

Børresen X3 loudspeakers are available in black or white piano lacquer finishes with carbon inserts. The speaker cabinets are made of wood-composite material, which is characterized by high density and inertness to sound vibrations. Six phase inverter ports are placed on the narrow rear wall of the case.

Børresen X3 speakers are expected to be available in spring 2023. In Europe, a pair of speakers can be purchased for as little as 10,000 euros , which is really quite a bit for Børresen products.
