JBL 4305P: Active bookshelf speakers with with built-in streamer

JBL 4305P

The JBL 4305P active bookshelf speakers are the first and most compact in their line of studio monitors. Their design is a mixture of nostalgia and a modern approach to building active acoustics.

The emitters are of a quite professional level. This is a 2410H-2 inch compression driver in a High-Definition Imaging horn and a 5.25 “fiber composite cone woofer driven by a pair of front bass reflex ports.

4305P are fully digital systems. Class D amplifiers up to 25W and 125W power the tweeter and woofer separately, respectively. The onboard DAC processes the signal with a resolution of up to 24 bit / 192 kHz.

The speaker accepts both digital and analog signals – it received a cable Ethernet, an asynchronous USB port, digital optical and 3.5 mm analog inputs, as well as an analog input with a combination of XLR / 1⁄4-inch TRS connectors.

An alternative can be considered support for Google Chromecast, Apple AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth. The system also has an input sensitivity switch and a bass level control. They can be amplified by connecting a subwoofer to the appropriate line output.

The system will be able to receive a signal with a clock frequency of up to 96 kHz wirelessly, and all 192 kHz with a Digital Link cable. In addition, the JBL 4305P Studio Monitor can play MQA audio files and are Roon Ready certified.

Every monitor buyer will receive a free 90-day trial of Qobuz. The novelties are available in two versions: with a natural walnut finish with a blue grill or black walnut veneer – then the grill will be black. Sales of the 4305P will start in the first quarter of 2022.

The retail price of the active acoustics JBL 4305P Studio Monitor will be $ 2,200.
