Klipsch unveils four new Reference Premier subwoofers

Klipsch unveiled four models of active subwoofers in the Reference Premier series, differing in the caliber of bass drivers, the power of the built-in amplifiers, as well as the size and weight of the cabinets. In the indices of the new models RP -1000 SW , RP -1200 SW , RP -1400 SW and RP -1600 SW, the diameter of the woofers in inches is coded – 10, 12, 14 or 16 inches.

ImageSpeaker cones are made of proprietary material Cerametallic. The drivers work in a phase-inverted design with Aerofoil branded slotted bass-reflex ports located at the bottom of the front panel. According to the developers, this port has an extremely low level of its own noise.

The built-in amplifiers work in class D and are capable of peaking from 600 watts for a model with a 10-inch driver to 1.6 kW for a subwoofer with a 16-inch driver.

In addition to the usual cable connection with RCA connectors, new items are able to work wirelessly. To take advantage of this very useful feature, you need to purchase the optional Klipsch WA-2 subwoofer kit.

The cabinets of Klipsch Reference Premier series subwoofers are made of thick MDF panels and rest on strong shock-absorbing feet. The subwoofers are offered in a single finish with durable black ash veneer vinyl.

All new Klipsch Reference Premier series subwoofers , except for the older model, are already on sale. The subwoofer with 16″ driver will be available for order in April-May 2023.

In the US, the entry-level Klipsch RP -1000 SW has a suggested retail price of $749 , the RP -1200 SW 12-inch model has an MSRP of $999 , and the RP -1400 SW with a 14-inch driver is $1,399 . Flagship subwoofer Klipsch RP -1600 SW with a gigantic 16″ woofer is priced at $1,799 .
