Danish brand Raidho , owned by Dantax A / S , has updated the popular X2 floorstanding speaker system, which received the t suffix in the name. The new Raidho X 2 t speakers use technologies and solutions developed for loudspeakers in the higher price segment. For example, the ribbon tweeter here is almost the same as the RaidhoTD6, which cost 210 thousand euros. The manufacturer claims that the X2t model is a significant improvement over the previous X2 model, which it replaces.
The Raidho X2t is a pair of compact and elegant floorstanding speakers, inspired by the X1t monitors first shown at the 2022 Munich trade fair. The manufacturer claims that “X2t do everything that the compact X1t, only at a higher level.” For example, Raidho X2t is equipped with a pair of low-frequency drivers that provide a more fundamental sound.
The 5.25″ woofer cones are tantalum coated. Tantalum belongs to a class of metals known as refractory, which are highly resistant to heat and wear. Tantalum has a melting point of 2996°C, which is the fourth highest among all metals. Using this material makes the cone much stiffer and firmer without adding weight.
Raidho’s patented signature ribbon tweeter is entirely designed and handcrafted in Denmark. This is a planar driver with 11 micron foil, which is fifty times lighter than the weight of the dome tweeter membrane. This emitter is capable of working with signals up to 82 kHz.
Other differences between the X2t model and the X2 include improved components in the crossover and Nordost internal wiring. Also in the novelty, new supports with improved vibration isolation properties are used.
The Raidho X 2 t is available in two base finishes – black piano lacquer and Birdseye maple veneer . These options will cost 14 thousand euros in Europe for a pair of speakers. In addition, as an option for an additional fee, the manufacturer offers finishing of cases in any color by prior order.
