Sony introduced a new series of embedded speaker for cars Mobile ES , headed by its two-way model Sony XS-690ES .
The novelty is a coaxial speaker consisting of an oval-shaped midrange-woofer and a soft dome tweeter. The diffuser of the main emitter is made of the proprietary material MRC (Mica Reinforced Cellular) , which combines mica, polymer and aramid fibers.
The suspension of the diffuser is made using the Separated Notch Edge technology , which consists in applying asymmetric cross-notches to the suspension, which significantly reduces nonlinear distortion. The tweeter features a neodymium magnet and a special synthetic fiber diaphragm with a voice coil attached to it. It ensures that the speaker is Hi-Res Audio compliant and can operate up to 40 kHz . Rated input power is 110 watts, peak power is 330 watts, sensitivity is 90dB, impedance is 4 ohms.
The Sony XS-690ES coaxial speaker will be available in May 2021 for $ 299.99 .
