Tannoy introduced the first speakers in seven years Stirling III LZ Special Edition . The speaker has become a tribute to the legendary III LZ (Monitor Red) model , produced in the 60s of the last century, and combines vintage design with modern technology.

The Tannoy Stirling III LZ Special Edition is based on the latest generation of our signature Dual Concentric driver with Alnico Magnet, which combines a 2″ aluminum-magnesium alloy dome tweeter with a 10″ paper pulp cone driver. The Dual Concentric coaxial driver has been used in Tannoy acoustics since the company invented it in 1947.

According to the manufacturer, the concept of a point source of sound, implemented in this speaker, provides “unsurpassed uniformity of radiation directivity” and “ideal phase coherence”. In an effort to make the Stirling III LZ Special Edition speakers less critical to placement in the room, Tannoy moved the slotted bass reflex ports to the front panel.

While the British brand says it has largely retained the original Model III LZ cabinet design, Tannoy engineers have developed a new wooden speaker cabinet that combines modern materials and engineering techniques, including Tannoy’s signature DMT (Differential Materials Technology) spacers. .
