The British brand Wharfedale has introduced the Elysian 3 floorstanding speakers , which have replenished the top series of Elysian speakers. The novelty has become the youngest floor model of the line, which is headed by the flagships Elysian 4. Like the older model, the Elysian 3 is made in a three-way concept with four drivers – the differences are in the size of the cabinets and bass speakers.
As a reminder, the Elysian 4 flagship floor model and the Elysian 2 shelf speakers were introduced by Wharfedale in 2020 and have been praised by experts and music lovers around the world. However, these speakers require a significant amount of listening space. To increase the appeal of the Elysian series, Wharfedale has introduced more compact speaker options – the Elysian 1 junior bookshelf monitors in 2021 and finally the Elysian 3 junior floorstanding speakers now.
The Elysian 3 measures just 105 x 26 x 29 cm per floorstanding speaker, making it about 11% shorter and one-third smaller in width and depth than the Elysian 4. Despite its smaller size, the Elysian 3 has mid/high- The same speakers, crossover and cabinet design as the Elysian 4. The novelty is equipped with a 27×90 mm AMT tweeter, a 150 mm mid-range driver and two 180 mm low-frequency drivers.
The bass drivers work in a phase-reversed acoustic design with a proprietary Slot-Loaded Profiled Port (SLPP), which optimizes low-frequency reproduction and enhances bass response by outputting low-frequency radiation through a specially profiled port at the base of the speaker cabinet. The sensitivity of the model is 89 dB.
The cabinet of the Wharfedale Elysian 3 loudspeakers is designed to improve acoustic performance by minimizing the resonance of the cabinet panels. For decoration, natural wood veneer, covered with piano lacquer, is used. The Wharfedale Elysian 3 is available in Black Oak, White Oak and Walnut veneer. The speakers have a suggested UK retail price of £5,999 per pair.
