Yamaha launches new MS101-4 Desktop speakers

Yamaha MS101-4

Yamaha has released the MS101-4 active speaker, expanding its line of professional audio products. The MS101-4 is a full-range bass reflex active speaker from Yamaha’s line of desktop monitors, ready for any application. Yamaha has updated this mainstream product with simple yet reliable options.

In all respects, the Yamaha MS101-4 goes back to one of the company’s first such speakers, the CBX-S3, released in the early 90s. The novelty was equipped with a new 4-inch driver with a 1-inch voice coil and a ferrite magnet. Cellulose fiber reinforced cone, 30W class D amplifier (20W continuous) naturally cooled (no fan) by universal power supply.

The speaker received both line and mic inputs, complemented by a combo input on the front and a 1/4″ TRS line-out jack on the rear, next to the two inputs. The MS101-4 has a 3/8″ female mount for mounting on a microphone stand. The power switch, volume and tone controls are placed on the front panel, the speaker is protected by a durable metal grill, and the phase inverter is brought back, which made the case more compact.
