The joint audio project of two digital giants Samsung and Google is called IAMF (Immersive Audio Model and Formats) and is designed to supplant Dolby Atmos in the market of audio and video devices.
The main difference of the new format will be, in addition to its sound features, the use of open source code in its development. IAMF will make extensive use of artificial intelligence and deep learning algorithms to analyze audio tracks in real time and adjust the volume level at different frequency sections, highlighting certain effects. The developers claim that they have achieved vertical positioning of images in the virtual sound space, in addition, the format will allow users to easily and simply add pressure or volume using individual settings.
Most likely, more details about the new IAMF format will appear during the CES 2024 exhibition , which will be held in January 2024 in Las Vegas.
