Microsoft releases first test build of Windows 11 this year with improved AirPods support

Microsoft has announced a preview build of Windows 11, 22526. It is available to members of the Windows Insider program on the Dev channel, which is designed to test new features of the operating system. This means that innovations, at best, may appear this summer or fall, along with an update to the stable version of Windows 11.

In the current test build, the changes are minor, but there is one important one regarding AirPods. The developers have added support for wideband speech when using Apple headphones (AirPods, AirPods Pro and AirPods Max), improving the sound quality for voice calls. Additionally, in Build 22526, Microsoft continues to experiment with indexing more file locations to make Explorer searches faster, and is also starting to show Alt + Tab menus in windowed mode instead of fullscreen. This visual change is only available to select Insiders.

As always, this assembly contains a long list of fixes related to the work of “Explorer”, system search and widgets. Check out the Windows blog for a complete list .
