It is reported that the new chipset will be called the Snapdragon 895 . The new processor, created using 4 nanometer technology, will be produced on the basis of Samsung . The Snapdragon 895 Plus / 895 + chipset will also be released, due in the second half of 2022 and will be manufactured by TSMC.
It’s worth noting that Qualcomm is moving to the new 4nm technology just a year after the previous change from 7nm to 5nm. However, this does not mean that the company will no longer produce chips using 5 nanometer technology: the release of the Snapdragon 800 and Snapdragon 700 series chipsets , produced using this technology, will continue.
The Snapdragon 895 is reportedly numbered ” SM8450 “. It will be powered by a Kryo 760 processor, an Adreno 730 GPU and an integrated Snapdragon X65 5G modem . All this should be announced in December and it is not yet known in what year we will see smartphones based on it.
