MediaTek has announced the Pentonic 700 processor for premium smart TVs. The product is endowed with a number of intelligent technologies to improve image quality.

The chip is designed to create 4K TV panels (3840 × 2160 pixels) with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. In games, the formation of 4K images with a refresh rate of 144 Hz is allowed.

It is based on four Arm Cortex-A73 cores clocked at up to 1.4 GHz and an Arm Mali-G52 MC1 graphics accelerator. Implemented support for DDR4-3200 RAM, eMMC 5.1 flash memory, HDMI 2.1, USB 3.2 Gen-1 and USB 2.0 interfaces.

The processor includes a block of artificial intelligence MediaTek AI. The AI-Super Resolution 2.0, AI-Picture Quality Scene Recognition 2.0 and AI-Picture Quality Object Recognition 2.5 systems are responsible for increasing the detail and optimizing the parameters.

Hardware decoding of HEVC (H.265), VVC (H.266), AV1 and AVS3 materials is possible. Support for HDR standards Dolby Vision IQ, BBC HLG, HDR10, HDR10 + / 10 + Adaptive / Gaming, as well as Dolby Atmos, DTS Master HD, DTS Virtual X and MPEG-H Audio are mentioned. The processor can be used in tandem with a MediaTek Filogic Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 6E or Wi-Fi 7 wireless chip.
