TCL now offers Smart TVs running on three different operating systems: Android TV , Roku OS , and Fire TV . TCL Fire TVs ( CF6 series ) are based on 50-inch and 55-inch VA LCD panels with 4K resolution. Models are made in a metal case and support HDR10 + and Dolby Vision video , as well as Dolby Atmos sound . These models will first be available in the UK, Germany, Spain and Italy.
The Fire TV operating system promoted by Amazon is based on Android under the AOSP (Android Open Source Project). The first models running this OS were introduced by Hisense and Xiaomi. Eric Saarnio, vice president of Amazon Devices International, said, “The number of Fire TVs continues to grow globally and we are excited to push this platform even further with TCL. Together with TCL, we will be able to offer an even more diverse lineup of high-quality, innovative smart TVs that combine best-in-class Fire TV entertainment with TCL’s premium Smart TV.”
Fire TV gives users access to popular streaming services such as Prime Video, HBO, Netflix and Disney+. TVs support voice control via Amazon Alexa assistant using a remote control with a built-in microphone and four direct access buttons.
TCL Fire TVs (CF6) are already on sale starting at €400 for a 50-inch model.
