Today we have to tell you something that is, to say the least, worrying. And it is that a report has recently come out indicating that certain Amazon TV Boxes come with pre-installed malware . This security problem has been able to affect thousands of users , since they are quite popular models from this store. We tell you what implications it has, what has happened and which are the affected models.
Amazon TV Box with pre-installed malware, what’s going on?
The person responsible for revealing this controversy has been the user Daniel Milisic , who raised the alarm and as a result of his investigations, several Android TV devices sold by Amazon have been found to contain malicious software. On this occasion, it has become clear that “cheap is expensive”, since they are models with good features that offer a price below the market but, nevertheless, hide a poisoned jelly bean.
And it is that Milisic detected that the device communicates with an external server without the user’s permission , sending data without their consent. An important security breach that should not be underestimated, since it is not possible to know the scope of this problem.
These are the affected models
The models affected by this malicious software are the following, depending on the source of this information:

At the time of writing this article, these devices have not yet been withdrawn from sale, although it should be noted that not all units would come with this malware pre-installed.
