Samsung TU8515 Review: Beautiful design and great image quality

This year has been strong and we find a really valuable TV from the Samsung that presents great improvements over the past series of its mid-range. This time we have a more complete model that corrects past problems. We are talking about the Samsung TU8515, an ideal team for those who are looking for good performance without having to fall into the high range, without a doubt, this TV can meet all your expectations.

Despite not having such a high cost, it is still a bit expensive, especially if we consider that we are talking about the smallest model. The Samsung TU8515 reaches 400 euros without problem, although possibly later we can find it with some discount . But that is another story, we are going to focus on analyzing in detail both the good and the bad that this team presents, so we will know if it is really worth it.

We have a slightly different design than what we were used to seeing

We are more used to seeing models in black, silver and gray, however, it is not so common to see a completely white TV , therefore, it is that this equipment becomes a striking option. Obviously it all depends on your tastes, but in general terms we find an attractive design that presents good details.

For example, it has thin frames that cover the entire screen, which give us greater elegance and at the same time allow us to enjoy a more useful space. This way we get our content to be seen in a more complete image without cuts or obstructions. Its stands are nice thanks to their small size  and  how thin they are .

Likewise, they provide good stability regardless of the surface where the television is placed.The sides look thin thanks to the little thickness of the back, likewise, it presents a clean construction that fits in any environment . As a negative point we have that their construction materials are made of a weak plastic.

Connectivity

We have three HDMI 2.0 inputs   that handle a good performance when connecting external devices. Another interesting option is its two  USB 2.0  which as a main advantage have the ability to record content from the television. Other connectors that turn out to be interesting are its  Ethernet  to connect the network cable, its  composite video input , its  optical audio output  and three  RF ports  for tracking terrestrial channels.

Image quality and general functions of the Samsung TU8515

With the  Samsung UE43TU8515 we are going to enjoy a pleasant image quality that presents a better optimization in every way. To begin with, we have a 4K resolution  that seeks to give us more detailed images to enjoy greater realism. Something that is difficult to appreciate in lower resolutions .

The backlight does not change at all and we have a Direct LED panel  that we have seen on practically every mid-range TV. As always, its problem lies in the power offered , which presents serious problems in very dark or bright environments, however, with a good snack it should not affect much.

Likewise, we have a Crystal Display that guarantees us a better expression of color, which is essential to enjoy more precise details , since the colors will be more vivid and intense, achieving good realism. The same happens with the contrast that is appreciated in a sharper state, therefore, the lighting will not be a problem.

To get the right tones between the different scenes that we will see, there is  Dual LED that does an excellent job. All this is possible thanks to the Crystal 4K processor that generates the necessary optimization for a deeper quality. Finally, we must mention its compatibility with  HDR,  which is quite useful when watching movies and series.

Sound

Possibly the weakest point of this television is its sound quality, which in our opinion does not meet the expectations generated by the image. For this model it has been decided to integrate two speakers with a total power of 20W , which is not all bad, although that totally depends on the content we are watching.

At least there are some improvement technologies such as  Dolby Digital Plus  and  Adaptive Sound  that offer us a more enveloping and clear sound, although unfortunately for us it does not cover all our needs. Therefore, the only solution we have is to purchase an external sound bar that offers the necessary power.

Finally, we have to talk about the system that includes the Samsung UE43TU8515 , which is owned by the same brand and is manufactured based on Linux, therefore, its behavior is accurate and efficient, especially if we talk about the security  and  optimization that has . Likewise, it is an intuitive platform that any user can use.

Its catalog of applications is long and has the most popular options of the moment, such as Netflix ,  Prime Video ,  YouTube  and  Disney + , therefore, our entertainment is guaranteed. Other interesting options are its compatibility with Amazon  Alexa  and  Google Assistant  to have better control of the TV using only our voice.

The Apple AirPlay 2 application  allows us to transmit photos, music and videos from an iPhone or iPad, which is very useful since with the DLNA included in the Samsung 43TU8515 it is quite difficult. The ambient mode allows us to reproduce a gallery of images while the television is idle . Also do not forget that a  game mode  and  Multi View is included.
