TCL S6200 is that television that we are looking for to put in the kitchen and watch the news or recipes. It can also be the one you buy desperately because yours has been damaged and you don’t have the budget, not even remotely, to replace one just like it. For my taste, it could also be the first television that you put on the little ones in their bedroom.

Or the one used by those people who don’t watch TV too much or don’t look for high image quality. In short, it is a television with a basic performance, of those of a lifetime but improved, and at a price that today sounds ridiculous.

Design and connectivity

Despite, as we say, being a very simple and cheap model, TCL has chosen a bezelless for its design. That is, the frames are negligible except for the lower one, which is considerably thick , so much so that it acts as an aesthetic detail in my opinion, being really beautiful. Likewise, the incorporation of metallic finishes embellishes the device while giving it durability.

TCL 32S6200 follows the aesthetics of the firm’s basic models for years but improving the edge system

However, when we see the television from its profile, we do realize that the brand has saved on design to be able to adjust prices to the maximum. The side of the television is very basic , with a panel of only 37 mm but widening the profile considerably up to 79 , without counting on its stand, of course.

So that there is no room for error, the screen measures 430 x 721 x 37 at 79 mm weighing 3.7 kilos . Why do I say it? You can keep this one and simply hang it on the wall, as it is compatible with VESA devices in 100 x 100 mm . The complete TV, with its two wide V legs , weighs 5.1 and measures 473 x 721 x 180mm .

Tuning and connectivity

With WiFI b/g/n 2.4Ghz MIMO and bluetooth we ensure sufficient wireless connectivity. These are not in their latest version but, even so, they are totally convenient for the connectivity tasks that we may want from both services.

As for the physical ports, we find two HDMI version 1.4 inputs, one USB 2.0, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, an optical audio output and an RF antenna .

Tuning is digital in DVB-C, DVB-S/S2 and DVB-T/T2, HbbTV 2.0.2, CI+ v1.3 and analog PAL/SECAM/NTSC and BG/DK/I/LL .

Image quality and general functions

This little model with a conventional 32-inch LCD LED panel remains HD Ready which, in my opinion, is the minimum acceptable today, especially if we consider that in pixels we are talking about 1366 x 768 , which gives rise to a 49-inch pixel density. This occupies 88.63% of the total frontal area of the TV. It has a curious aspect ratio of 18:9 , 60 Hz frequency coupled with 300 PPI units, a contrast of 5000:1 and a basic brightness of 350 nits.

In terms of technology and functions, TCL 32S6200 has:

  • Micro Dimming . This technology is used to enhance contrast. It is achieved based on an analysis of the image in more than a hundred small areas whose values are changed to further fine-tune and achieve more realistic and defined brightness and contrast.
  • Support for HDR content . It is curious because this is something that is left for Full HD televisions but, without a doubt, it is a more than welcome aspect, since it implies that the processor, which is a quad-core ARM Cortex-A55, is not bad and, in addition, that we can see more content with better details. There is more vividness in colour, high contrast and greater depth in black areas.
  • Image modes . Surprisingly, the model integrates several image modes, which means that it works to subtly modify the values of the contents to better adjust them to its typology. Thus, we find standard, dynamic, smart HDR, movies, sports games and PC.

A decent image considering its specifications

Audio

As for the audio, the truth is that we can say little. It has two small full range down firing type speakers with 5 W of power each, which makes a total of 10 W in 2.0 channels . It is a sufficient amount to listen to anything without a problem but, without a doubt, it is below the conventional today. Music at full blast, especially bass, may be distorted because it also doesn’t have a subwoofer.

The audio technology used is Dolby Digital Plus , which means that the sound remains rich and of sufficient quality to make the most of the elements that make up the simple audio system.

TCL 32S6200 software/smartTV review

Be careful because you are not going to believe that this simple and cheap television comes with Android TV 11 . Not only is it intelligent in its measure but it integrates an excellent OS. This one, yes, is somewhat casted but it already offers much more than other exclusives of each brand.

TCL Android 32S6200

With this you have the Google Home space , but you also have TCL Home , in case you want to try the home one.

Lots of Google functions such as its pre-installed apps, its voice assistant or Chromecast are an excellent option to make the device more interactive and offer us more attractive and stimulating.

As with the Home, it also has another content delivery system, in this case T-Cast .

Other conventional functions are channel auto-scan, 8-day EPG, sleep timer or teletext .
